The first thing you notice is the light — that particular late-afternoon amber that only Los Angeles manufactures, sliding through floor-to-ceiling glass and pooling across velvet textures and exposed concrete. Somewhere below, the Sunset Strip hums with its eternal frequency, a current of music, ambition, and creative rebellion that has defined this stretch of West Hollywood for over half a century. You've just arrived at Hotel Ziggy Los Angeles, and already the city feels less like a destination and more like a state of mind.
Born from the spirit of rock and roll, this boutique property channels the irreverent energy of the Strip into every detail without ever sacrificing comfort or refinement. The aesthetic is deliberate and layered — think mid-century bones dressed in moody jewel tones, vintage concert photography hung alongside contemporary art, and leather accents that nod to backstage lounges of a more decadent era. It's a hotel that wears its attitude well, one that understands the difference between trying to be cool and simply being it.
Your guest room unfolds as a private retreat from the boulevard's kinetic energy. Crisp linens drape across generously scaled beds, and rain showers deliver the kind of unhurried ritual that dissolves jet lag and recalibrates the senses. Thoughtfully curated toiletries, high-speed WiFi, and flat-screen displays round out the details, but it's the atmosphere — the soft lighting, the tactile warmth of the furnishings, the sense that someone with genuine taste assembled this space — that elevates the experience beyond the transactional.
Then there is the pool. West Hollywood's largest saltwater pool stretches across the property's outdoor terrace like a turquoise declaration, flanked by loungers and the kind of scene that makes you forget you had anywhere else to be. Order something with mezcal and fresh citrus, let the Southern California sun press warmth into your shoulders, and watch as the Hollywood Hills turn violet against the fading sky. It's the sort of afternoon that becomes the story you tell friends for months — not because anything extraordinary happened, but because the ordinariness of it felt impossibly glamorous.
For those who keep to a fitness rhythm even on the road, a twenty-four-hour gym stocked with modern equipment stands ready at any hour, whether you're an early riser chasing endorphins before brunch or a night owl burning off the energy of a late dinner.
Beyond the lobby doors, the Sunset Strip unfurls in both directions with legendary purpose. The Roxy Theatre and Whisky a Go Go sit within easy reach, their marquees still broadcasting the names of artists shaping the sound of right now. Katana's elevated Japanese cuisine and rooftop views offer one of the Strip's most coveted dinner reservations, while boutiques and galleries along Melrose and Robertson deliver retail therapy with an editorial edge. Drive fifteen minutes east and you're tracing the bronze stars of the Hollywood Walk of Fame; head north and Universal Studios Hollywood delivers cinematic spectacle on a grand scale.
But the real magic of this location is its immediacy. West Hollywood pulses with a progressive, creative spirit that rewards wandering — a mural you didn't expect, a vinyl shop tucked between cafés, a sommelier at a candlelit wine bar who tells you about the natural producer in Paso Robles whose bottles haven't yet reached the East Coast. The neighborhood doesn't just surround you; it invites you in.
As darkness settles, the Strip reveals its second identity. Neon washes across the pavement, laughter spills from rooftop bars, and the bass notes of live music vibrate through club walls. You can chase the night as far as it goes or retreat to your room, where the city's glow filters through the curtains like a lullaby composed in light.
Hotel Ziggy Los Angeles doesn't simply put you near the action — it tunes you to the exact frequency of a city that has always understood spectacle, reinvention, and the art of making an entrance. This is a stay that resonates long after checkout, a melody you'll find yourself humming at the most unexpected moments.

What we love about this stay
Hotel Ziggy is the Sunset Strip stay that actually feels like the Sunset Strip, not a sanitized version of it. The saltwater pool is the real draw here, the largest in WeHo, and the move is to claim a lounger by late morning before the scene picks up. Request a pool-facing room on an upper floor so you catch that golden hour light spilling across the water without the noise pulling you in before you're ready. The location is unbeatable for a night out. The Roxy and Whisky are a stumble away. Skip the hotel gym in favor of an early evening walk east on Sunset when the light goes soft and the boulevard starts to hum. That fifteen-minute window before the neon takes over is the best version of this neighborhood.

The stay was fun. We'd come back! The hotel was music themed and it was a really cool spot for photos! We really enjoyed how friendly the staff was especially at the bar and restaurant. We sat and chatted with the bartender while he wasn't busy and really enjoyed the conversation.

I thoroughly enjoyed checking in with Alan, total super star staff member! He's whitty, knowledgeable and funny! My room was overlooking to pool, level 3. Was pretty quiet as no pool parties occuring. There was a Pizza Girl launch party happening in the foyer with free pizza for the new Ziggy menu. Everyone was so lovely. Always enjoy my stay at Ziggy. Thank you Ill be back.

Super friendly staff, I could use a bit more maintenance, such light fixtures working properly and a bit more tidy, just a humble observation Oh I think the surcharges like ordering food it’s a bit much, meal priced at 22.00 but after taxed tips and other charges 38.00 it’s quite a lot
