Be at the pool by five-thirty. The light shifts from amber to burnt coral across the water, and the saguaros go almost black against that impossible sky — it's the single best hour here, and you'll want a drink in hand when it happens. Claim the terrace at dusk rather than retreating inside; the starfield out here is absurd, and it hits harder after the sunset warmth still radiates off the stone. Skip scheduling spa treatments midday — book late afternoon instead, when your body's already sun-loosened and the desert heat does half the work for you. Pack layers for after dark; the temperature drops faster than you'd expect. This place rewards stillness more than itinerary, so resist the urge to overschedule. One good hike, one long float, one evening on that terrace — that's the formula.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Cactus Grove. The place was beautiful and provided all the necessities for a comfortable stay. The pool was amazing and great stargazing spot just right outside the property. I would just hope to see them add some curtains to the main living room, as the house gets pretty hot in the summer heat wave. But all things aside, the host was attentative to any concerns and made our stay as nice as possible. I would recommend to stay here again and will stay at future Fieldtrip properties.

Amazing stay! I loved how accessible everything was through their apps. The space itself is beautiful. Everyone in our party was complimenting it the whole trip. It’s secluded enough to feel like you have your privacy but still a short drive to tons of shops. I would recommend this to any group traveling to Joshua Tree!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
It’s like a mini compound. There isn’t really a “front door” to this house. It’s an entrance door to this mini compound. When you open the entrance door, it opens to the foyer, casita, billiard room, doors to main house.
There’s an en suite bathroom to each room, even the casita. All rooms have a king bed, TV, and tons of comfort. Concrete floors in the entire property—my fav. The kitchen was fully stocked and with all the kitchen tools one could possibly need. Except a rice cooker, but we brought that :)
The pool was so fun—fun shape, a deep end, areas to sit. No slides, but that wouldn’t go with the chic style this house exudes lol.
Overall, best airbnb we’ve stayed at!
